But the Congressman's also a Republican. So total mainstream media silence. Natch.
Bet it won't even rate a thumbs-down in the hair-trigger race-conscious Democrat and Chronicle.

About 100 people watch Bill Maher on TV.That's about the same number who read the Democrat & Chronicle.
Jim Lawrence has no problem with racism against black people if they are found to be republicans.
Lucy, how did you react to Bob Lonsberry's remarks against Bill Johnson a few years back? Did you experience the same kind of moral outrage?
Well, it's probably got more to do with the fact that he didn't actually call him an ape. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's why no one put out any outrage.
Seriously, did you actually READ the article by Maher? Or, did you just read someone else's opinion of it and then just parrot it? Nevermind, you're a right-winger, I already know the answer to that question. To have read it would've required an interest in discerning the truth, and truth is destructive to your worldview.
Since you didn't read it, I'll give you another synopsis you can parrot: He called the Republican party "the party of the apes" as demeaning of 'Pubs in general and then much later in the article mentioned Allen. To suggest there was any racism really shows how devoid of ideas, and completely out of touch with reality, the right is.
But, let's say he DID specifically call Allen an ape. Does that make him a racist? Doubtful. In Maher's case, it's obvious he's not a racist. He doesn't say racist things. He doesn't do racist things. He works to advance equality of all people. Were he to say something that might be interpreted as racist in some certain light, it makes more sense to believe it was a slip.
Now, on the other hand, were Rush, who regularly and consistently says misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic and racist things, to say something like that...well, it just becomes part of the pattern.
Can you possibly even begin to fathom the difference? To say something that someone MIGHT interpret as racist once doesn't make you a racist. Saying things regularly that are absolutely racist makes you a racist.
Bill Maher called Sarah Palin "a dumb tw-t" and the media thought it was funny! He is vulgar, crude, arrogant, and protected because he is a Democrat. He gave a million to an Obama super pac and is free to spew his hateful and ingorant rhetoric because of celebrity...nice gig!
Yes, the first amendment is alive and well at Mustard Street, as long as you are drinking the Kool Aid.
To quote Rickie Riccardo, "Lucy, you have explaining to do."
